I'm about to buy a new one of these because after 11 years of regular use with four children (and sometimes two adults), the old one has a few teeth lost or bent. Buying one of these will be one of the best investments you ever make.
I have done a trial on a bad case where i combed one side with a nitty gritty comb and the other side with this Shantys one, and the and swapped and did it the other way round. This one definitely got more lice out. And the nitty gritty one is scratchy and feels like its splitting the hair. (Tho both are better than cheap plastic ones.)
With this comb, the lice tend to get caught between the rows of teeth, so it's best to hold the comb the right way up, with the wider spaced row going through the hair first (on the lower side).
I tend to comb that area again upwards from underneath, after combing down from the top, and often get more that way."

My daughter caught them from school for the first time ever recently and I had the white double sided comb and the nitty gritty one. The white and nitty gritty were good and I thought had all the nits and lice out if her hair. I did these 2 fur 2 days. I have occasionally gotten nits as presents off my grand kids (due to the cross-contamination that goes on in their school ) and needed to use a head-spray and lice comb on myself on a couple of occasions.
This make of comb is used successfully in their home so I thought I'd get the same for myself too. It is quite effective and far better than those generic plastic ones that are no more useful than a normal hair comb when it comes down to it. Oh yeah, it doubles up as an absolutely brilliant comb for my beard too, so what's not to like ?"

A: You can use an old toothbrush and some hot soapy water. They will come right out.
Q: My daughter has fine hair and I am having trouble removing the white eggs. Does this comb work on stubborn eggs?
A: This comb worked really well on my daughter and she doesn't have the thickest hair. I was also told to use tea tree shampoo and conditioner. I carried on using a long time after they had gone and it did the trick!

A: The answer is NO. The length of time to remove head lice and nits may take longer but catting the hair is NOT necessary.

A: Yes - I have frizzy coarse thick hair and it doesn’t catch like some of the metal ones do, it combs through really easily with no tugging or snagging.
Q: I have this comb and love it but how do I clean it so I don't transfer eggs from one family member to another?
A: Ideally, you don’t want to share it with anyone. But I clean it after every use in boiling hot water and a small brush to get right inside.
Q: What about my child’s stuffed animals? Can head lice live on them?
A: Head lice can not live on stuffed animals or toys. There is absolutely no reason to bag them or throw them away,
Q: The last two times I combed everyone in my house out, we had no nits or head louse. How often do I need to comb from here out to prevent a re-infestation? And for how long?
A: You should do a preventative maintenance check about once a month, especially if you have children. And yes, right through their teen years.

"Double trouble ... for the head lice that is.
Our youngest of six children (we foster three of them) is in year 5 primary school and although she doesn't get nits as often as her earlier years, she still manages to bring them home on occasions. Catching head lice seems to be something that happens mainly in primary school and luckily for us the rest of our children are either in secondary school or college.
Anyway true to form the New Year meant a new infestation of head lice and my daughter's long hair seemed to attract them like a magnet. So the other evening armed with my new 'Nitcomb M2 Double Row Head Lice Comb' and my trusty nit shampoo, my daughter and I marched up to the bathroom.
Now over the years I have used many different head lice combs, short toothed metal, short toothed plastic, long toothed metal, wavy toothed and straight toothed, I have even used battery operated combs that are supposed to electrocute the little... The Nitcomb is just brilliant!!
One row of teeth are fine and the other row is extra fine, this idea works extremely well as the fine teeth remove the head lice whilst the extra fine teeth remove most of the eggs and any head lice missed by the first row, doing it again five days later when the few eggs that remained previously have hatched certainly did the job with my daughter. I can't believe such a simple idea hadn't been thought of before, but I'm sure glad it has been thought of now."
